Simposium 10: PURINERGIC RECEPTORS AND CANCER Chairs : Rosa Gomez-Villafuertes (Madrid, Spain) / Elena Adinolfi (Ferrara, Italy) Content : Cancer is a major burden of disease worldwide. Each year, tens of millions of people are diagnosed with cancer around the world, and new disease markers and therapeutic targets are needed. P2 receptors are expressed by all tumours, in some cases to a very high level. Activation or inhibition of selected P2 receptor subtypes brings about cancer cell death or growth inhibition. This following symposium will try to show recent advances in the field of purinergic receptors in cancer development and progression.
